How our Christmas light service works, start to finish

A Royal Acres holiday lighting season in six steps, from measuring the roofline to storing your runs. You are needed for two of them.

Updated October 1, 2026

We measure your roofline from the air. No account, no email.

From$550$5 per foot of roofline. Minimum $550.

A house lit by Royal Acres for the holidays

Six steps, from your address to a shelf in our storage. You are needed for two: giving us the address, and saying yes to the design.

The season, step by step

  1. We measure your roofline. Type your address and you will see your roof measured from the air, and choose which edges to light. The eave, gable and peak footage is printed on your quote. If it looks wrong, say so and we will come and look at the house.
  2. A design walk. Somebody looks at the house and tells you what will look right on it. We also tell you where your power will be a problem, before install day rather than on it.
  3. A deposit holds your date. 10% of the quote, due within 24 hours of reserving it; the balance is due on completion. The deposit is not refundable: in November the scarce thing is install dates, not lights.
  4. Install, from late October into early December. Runs are clipped to the roofline. Nothing is nailed, stapled or screwed into your fascia, shingles or gutters. The display sits dark on a timer until the date you want it on. You do not need to be home.
  5. Repairs through 24 December. A bulb out, a run knocked loose by wind, a tripped outlet: tell us and we fix it at no charge, most within 72 hours.
  6. Takedown in the first week of January, then storage. The lights are ours, leased to you for the season. Your runs are coiled the way they were cut, labelled to your house, and shelved until October. Next year they go back on the same eaves, at the price you paid this year. Takedown and storage are in the price, with no second invoice.

What we need from you

Three things

  • An address, so we can measure
  • A working outdoor outlet, and where you want the timer
  • A yes on the design, before we cut runs to your roof

Questions

Why install in October, before anyone wants lights on?

Because clipping a roofline at 58 degrees is faster and safer than at 28, on a dry roof in daylight. The lights stay off until the date you choose.

Do I have to be home for any of it?

No. Not for the install, the repairs or the takedown. We only need your yes on the design.

What does it cost?

Roofline is priced per foot, at a rate set by how steep the roof is, and trees by the strand. Install, takedown and storage are in that price. See Christmas light installation in Terre Haute for the rates.

  • Called for estimate and they were there in a couple days. They installed the lights that week. Lights are nice and straight to the roof line. Front porch posts are nice and even. No extra lights just hanging down. Looks better than I expected. My wife is especially happy. Now she’ll probably want more lights next year. Oh well. Happy wife Happy life…….

  • Royal Acres provided options for Christmas lights and then showed up the same day to get the job done. They even made a last second change to get the lights exactly how my wife and I wanted them. Great service. Very professional.
