Every price below comes from our published price book, the same one your quote is worked out from. Your address gets you the figure for your own lawn, before we ask for a name or a number.

How your number is worked out
- You give us the address. Nothing else yet.
- We measure the grass, not the lot. The house, the drive, outbuildings and the canopy of mature trees come out. A half-acre lot off Ohio Boulevard with a garage and two maples can hold less grass than a quarter acre south of town.
- We apply the published schedule. Mowing is priced by the square foot of grass: $49 up to 10,000 square feet, because below that the cost is the stop, not the grass, then a little more for every 10,000 past it. The rest of the lawn is priced from the weekly mow: a fertilizer and weed-control treatment is 35% more, a cleanup three times it with the leaves mulched or five times it with them hauled away. Aeration and overseeding are priced by the acre.
- We adjust for how often we come. And for any named condition on your property.
- You see the number and every reason for it. Then you decide whether to give us your details.
What can move the number
| Condition | Why |
|---|---|
| Many obstacles | Trees, beds, play sets. Trim line takes the time, not open lawn |
| Steep slope | Creek-bank and ravine lots, like Allendale above Honey Creek |
| Overgrown first cut | Priced once, before we start; then your normal rate |
| Narrow gate | Walk-behind only, so the same lawn takes longer on foot |
| Off route | A street we do not already run means a trip for one stop |
| Dog on site | No charge. We need to know, that is all |
| Septic or no-mow zone | No charge. It changes where we mow |
Every other week costs more per visit than weekly, by 20%, because each cut removes two weeks of growth. A single cut is 50% higher, because we are driving out for one stop.
An address more than 10 miles from New Life Fellowship on Wabash Avenue is 20% more, out to 15 miles. The quote works that out from your address, so you see it before you book.
Your price does not change without your yes
Our rates live in a price book that is versioned and never edited in place. Every quote and invoice records the version that produced it, so a March quote can be explained line by line in July. If the job changes, a new bed, a fence, a tree down, we re-quote and you approve the new number first. And if our rates go up, you get at least a week's notice before they do.
Questions
Why publish prices when most companies won't?
Because the usual alternative is giving your phone number to four companies to learn a price, and the one who quotes over the phone without looking is the quote most likely to change. We would rather be held to a number on the page.
How long is a quote good for?
Seven days from the day we give it to you.
Does a person check the price?
When the lot needs it: a large or unusual property, or a measurement we are not sure of. Your quote says so when it does, and nothing is booked until somebody has looked.
Do I have to sign a contract?
No, not for mowing. Give us one day's notice and we stop.
Why is my price different from my neighbour's?
Because the lawns are different. We price the grass, not the lot, so two houses on one street can have very different amounts of lawn once the house, the drive and the trees come out. A steep slope, a narrow gate or a yard full of obstacles can move it too, and your quote names any that apply.
